Maajun Jersey Farm
Maajun Jersey Farm Jersey Cattle Farming · Pasture Production · Dairy Processing & Manufacturing · Dairy Product Sales · Tropical Fruit Cultivation
Located in Sakieda, on the northwestern coast of Ishigaki Island, Maajun Farm is home to approximately 40 Jersey cattle, including both cows and calves.
At Maajun Farm, the belief is simple: healthy cows produce exceptional milk. Great care is given to both the cattle and the pasture they graze on, creating a natural environment where the animals can thrive. This commitment to animal welfare is the foundation of safe, high-quality dairy products.
Using the rich milk of these healthy Jersey cows, the farm produces handcrafted cheese, butter, and yogurt with a distinctive richness and depth of flavor. To preserve the natural character of Ishigaki Island—its mountains, sea, and fresh air—all products are made without preservatives or artificial colorings.
Compared with Holstein cattle, Jersey cows are smaller and produce about half as much milk. However, their milk contains approximately 5% butterfat, giving it a naturally richer taste and creamier texture. This makes it especially well suited for premium dairy products such as cheese and butter.
Because Maajun Farm follows traditional, small-batch production methods and raises its cattle primarily on pasture, production volumes are limited. The result is a collection of artisanal dairy products that capture the authentic flavor of Jersey milk and the natural beauty of Ishigaki Island.
